In 1975, two brothers from Hersonissos, Georgios and Stavros Stampoulis, decided to build something of their own. At a time when tourism in Crete was just beginning to flourish, with determination and passion they built a small seaside hotel: the Glaros Beach Hotel, together with the Veranda restaurant, which opened alongside it from the very start as the natural extension of the same hospitality — from the guest room to the table.
In the years that followed, the family kept investing, one step at a time. In 2014, Karavi Restaurant opened, bringing a more romantic, seafood-focused dining experience to the coastal front. In 2017, Soso Anastasia Star was added, a quieter, more boutique take on hospitality for those seeking something more personal. And in 2019, the group took another major step forward with two new additions at once: Cretan Blue Restaurant and Glaros Royal Beach, together with the now-iconic Cohiba Cocktail Bar — the group's most contemporary and refined offering to date.
Alongside this growth, the investment in photovoltaic parks added a new dimension to the group's philosophy: that of sustainable development.
Today, fifty years after the first stone of Glaros Beach was laid, the second generation of the family carries this journey forward — with the same respect for tradition, and an eye firmly on tomorrow.
